Where is the bunkhouse?
Base Camp Bunkhouse & Coffee is at 59771 Wallowa Lake Hwy in Joseph, Oregon — about six miles south of downtown Joseph on the lake road, beside the historic Wallowa Lake Pack Station. Wallowa Lake and the Eagle Cap Wilderness trailheads are minutes away.
How does check-in work?
There is no front desk. You book and pay online, and we email you a door code that works only during your stay. Arrive at midnight, leave at dawn — nobody is waiting on you.
What does a night cost?
Bunkhouse beds start at $45 a night. The corner room — a private room that sleeps two — is $120. The loft sleeps three at $95 a night with a one-week minimum. RV pads and the trailer rental are coming soon.
Are linens included?
Yes. Every bunk and room comes made up, and guests share a bathroom with a shower.
Can I get a shower without staying the night?
Yes — reserve a private 30-minute window in the bunkhouse bathroom for $15, available 8am to 8pm. Showers are free if you are staying the night.
Are dogs allowed?
No dogs — the pack station’s horses and mules next door get jumpy.
Can I get here without a car?
Yes. FlixBus runs Portland to La Grande, and the Wallowa Link bus connects La Grande to Enterprise and Joseph on scheduled days (it does not run daily). The last six miles follow the lake road — get in touch and we will help you sort the final leg.
Is there anywhere to park a horse trailer?
Yes — parking is free on site, with room for a horse trailer.
